The traditional tie-dye technique involves the following steps:

• Folding or crumpling the garment and securing it with rubber bands or string.

• Applying different colored dyes to the bound sections.

• Allowing the dye to set, typically for several hours or overnight.

• Rinsing the garment and removing the bindings.

• Washing the garment to remove excess dye.
